Seattle painter Morgan Patten wants to see more mistakes in contemporary painting.
“There are too many aesthetes nowadays making pretty, polite paintings,” she told Urgent Matter. “I want to see more error in painting, more failures.”
Patten’s first solo show opens in December at a newer gallery, she said, while her work will also appear at the Scope Miami art fair.
“I mainly just want to spend time at the beach there and drink cheap wine,” she said of Miami.
