This page hosts records released by the University of North Texas in response to a request Urgent Matter filed under the Texas Public Information Act seeking communications about the fallout from the cancellation of Victor "Marka27" Quiñonez's exhibition "Ni de Aquí, Ni de Allá."
The first set contains emails and text messages of Nicole Foran, chair of the Department of Studio Art, including her exchanges with dean Karen Hutzel about protests, media coverage and graduate enrollments, faculty threads on a proposed town hall, and internal discussions of visiting artist events.
The second set contains text messages of Jim Coll, the university's vice president for marketing and communications, showing university communications staff tracking student protests, social media posts and news coverage of the cancellation.
