As museums reconsider the cost barriers that keep visitors away, the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester has taken a major step toward opening its doors to everyone.
The Memorial Art Gallery has announced that it received a $3 million donation for an endowment to aid the museum toward its goal of offering free admission.
The donation was given jointly to the museum by sustainable energy and private equity investor Doug Bennett, with his wife Abby, and the Sands Family Foundation, co-chaired by Constellation Brands billionaire Robert Sands and his brother, Richard.
