The Vagina Museum, a British institution aimed at destigmatizing gynecological anatomy, cheekily said Monday that people keep stealing a MILF magnet from one of its displays.

“In this display, we had a magnet which said MILF, and it got stolen so many times that we gave up. We are delighted that our MILF visitors to feel represented but couldn't afford to keep on replacing our MILF magnet,” the museum posted on BlueSky.

The magnet is a part of the museum’s current exhibition, “Menopause: What’s Changed?” The display asks visitors to consider the language used to describe menopause and menopausal people.

“Language matters, it reflects and reinforces stereotypes entwined with misogyny, ageism, and ableism,” the museum said in a post to Instagram.

“How, then, might we rethink our language? How can we reclaim existing language and how might we introduce new language into the mix?”

The museum noted that certain magnets “get more faded and bedraggled” as they are handled, revealing which words resonate most with visitors.

“What does it mean that horny, hot, sexless, witch, climax, unashamed, hormonal, sweaty are among the words our visitors interact with most?” the museum questioned. “That prime, matriarch, invisible, caring, wakeful, compassionate are among the least?”
